Otto Bremer Foundation Grant Supports Fitness Program for ...

The Arc of Dunn County Receives Grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation and Launches Fitness Program for Individuals with Disabilities

The Arc of Dunn County recently launched Arc Action Fit Club, which is a program promoting health and wellness education for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Dunn County community. The program is based on a curriculum called ?Health Matters,? which is specifically designed to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities. The program consists of a 12-week classroom course as well as two workouts each week geared to meet the individual needs of participants. The goal of the program is to empower individuals with developmental disabilities by giving them the tools to make healthy choices for themselves.

The grant The Arc received from the Otto Bremer Foundation will help in purchasing the necessary fitness equipment needed to start and maintain the program. The Arc of Dunn County would like to thank the Otto Bremer Foundation for supporting our work within the community. For more information about the Arc Action Fit Club or to sign up for an upcoming class, contact Tina Joiner at 715-235-7373 ext. 20 or tina@arcofdunncounty.org.
