Christian to be recommended for LCHS football coach

HAMLIN - The Lincoln County Board of Education will be asked to consider hiring Derek Christian as Panther head football coach at next week's meeting in Hamlin. The revelation came in the agenda and personnel schedule circulated by the central office just after 3 p.m., Thursday afternoon, January 17, 2013.

Christian was appointed assistant principal at Lincoln County High School last August. The personnel schedule for the Tuesday, January 22 meeting of the board includes Christian's name listed for the position of "LCHS Coach Football." The appointment would be effective on January 23 next, subject to the board's approval.

The board will consider the full personnel schedule at next week's meeting. The members may also be asked to hire a new assistant principal at the high school, to succeed the recently resigned Michael Dorsey. That entry on the personnel schedule did not have a nominee as of Thursday afternoon. Next week's regular session gets underway at headquarters in Hamlin at 6 p.m.
