2011 Was A Record-Breaker In Central Texas

FORT WORTH (January 1, 2012)?Central Texas ended 2011 with a record-high average temperature for the year, the National Weather Service said Sunday.

The average high temperature for 2011 at the official weather service site at Waco Regional Airport was 82 degrees, breaking the previous record of 81.7 degrees set in 2006.

The mean temperature for the year was 69.5 degrees, the weather service said, which was the sixth warmest on record.
